You may be here because leadership feels heavier than it should.

You’re carrying a decision you can’t easily discuss with your team.

A difficult relationship or conflict is taking up far too much of your energy.

You’ve stepped into a bigger role — and what made you successful before doesn’t feel like enough anymore.

You’re finding yourself defending your decisions, your team or even your own leadership more often than you’d like.

You’re leading through significant change and need a confidential place to think, challenge your assumptions and regain perspective.

Or perhaps nothing is wrong. You simply know you’re ready to lead differently.

You don’t need someone to give you the answers. You may need the right person to help you find them.

That’s where our work begins.

Executive Coaching

Time to think. Space to see differently. Perspective to move forward.

Senior leadership rarely comes with more time to think.

More often, it brings greater complexity, competing priorities, difficult conversations and decisions where there is no obvious right answer.

Coaching creates something increasingly rare in leadership: dedicated, confidential space to think.

Together, we step outside the immediacy of the problem to explore what’s really happening, challenge assumptions, move beyond surface-level answers and widen your perspective — so you can make decisions and lead with greater clarity and confidence.

I bring more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in complex healthcare environments to this work — not to tell you how to lead, but to understand the realities and pressures of senior leadership while asking the questions that help you see what you may not see on your own.

My coaching is particularly suited to:

Physician leaders navigating the shift from expert to leader, complex relationships, competing professional identities and organizational change.

Executives and senior leaders facing difficult decisions, increased responsibility, conflict, transition or moments when their confidence or clarity has been shaken.

Leaders stepping into something bigger who want to strengthen their presence, emotional intelligence and leadership approach without losing what makes them uniquely themselves.

Leading in the Grey

The hardest leadership challenges rarely have a perfect answer.

They live in the grey — where priorities compete, relationships matter, information is incomplete and the path forward isn’t obvious.

This is where perspective becomes powerful.

My role is to create the conditions for better thinking — bringing curiosity, challenge, experience and wider wisdom to the conversation so you can see beyond the immediate problem and make decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

The goal isn’t to eliminate the grey. It’s to become a leader who can thrive in it.

About Heather

I’m Heather Findlay — an executive coach, facilitator and former healthcare executive who understands the complexity of leading when the answers aren’t obvious.

Over more than 25 years in healthcare leadership, including executive roles as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer, I’ve led through significant transformation, competing priorities, complex relationships and moments when there simply wasn’t a clear path forward.

Today, I bring that experience to my coaching — alongside professional coaching credentials, emotional intelligence expertise and a deep belief in the power of perspective.

My role isn’t to give you the answers.

It’s to create the space, ask the questions and offer the challenge that helps you discover your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Executive Coaching?
Executive coaching is a partnership with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is a client-driven process where the coach acts as a thought partner, helping clients develop their self-awareness, leadership skills and overall effectiveness through discovery, clarity and alignment with what the client wants to achieve.
Who can benefit from executive coaching?
Executives, managers, and leaders at any level in an organization can benefit from executive coaching. Whether you are new to a leadership role, an experienced leader or a seasoned executive, coaching can help you maximize your personal and professional and achieve your goals.
What is emotional intelligence?
"Emotional intelligence (EI) is a term used to describe the ability of an individual to recognize their own and other people's emotions, to discriminate between different feelings and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide thinking and behaviour." https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_intelligence.

EI is not aptitude. It is not achievement nor proficiency in a subject. EI has nothing to do with vocational interests or personality. Where personality is fixed, EI explains how one uses emotions while operating in the world and can develop and change over time.
What is the difference between coaching and mentoring?
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps people discover their potential and set goals that are meaningful to them . Coaches ask thought-provoking questions to help their clients find their own solutions rather than providing specific advice or solutions.

Mentoring is a developmental relationship where a more experienced person (the mentor) shares their knowledge and expertise to help a less experienced person (the mentee) grow.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes! As a client, you own your information. ICF-credentialed coaches are bound by a code of ethics that safeguards your confidentiality. The information is yours alone and only you get to decide if or how you want to share it.
